An introduction to dyeing yarns for use in knitting, weaving, crocheting or anything else you can think of, this class will cover preparing yarns for dyeing with natural dyes, dyeing and care of naturally dyed fiber. Led by natural dyer Laurin Guthrie, the class will dye local wool yarns in a sampling of ancient dyestuffs and local, seasonal dye plants. Students will leave with the knowledge to create color from their own gardens or with ancient plants used by cultures around the world for centuries.
